On rainy days, I am reminded of my father's funeral. The rain was fierce that day, and yet, all I could feel was tremendous pain and agony in my heart. It was such an awful day; a day of silence; a day of recollection; a day of fear; a day of longing; a day that marked a grieving period that has lasted over two years now. I am at a loss as to when it ends; it does not. It clouds my thoughts and saddens my heart daily. It has a way of strangling your insides; it takes your breath away.
I love you, Dad, and wish that we had been able to spend more time together before you died. You are forever a part of me.
